Ever wanted to make your own films? Now you can with this fun, creative and hands-on 5-day programme that teaches the basics of filmmaking.

Put your creative mind to work by screenwriting, directing, acting, editing and sound recording. You will not be limited to only one role, and you will be guided every step of the way by industry professionals. Learning the 'language' of film is an important part of this programme, as is being creative with limited resources. It will be rewarding and lots of fun. At the end of the week you will have a film of your own creation that you can share with pride.

Plus, your films will be screened on the last day of the holiday programme to an invited audience. Get your family and friends to come along!

You will also be able to watch your film/s at home via a link that will be emailed the following week.

What better way to spend the holidays than being a film-maker?

Teaching artist Paolo Rotondo has worked as a film director, playwright and actor for over 20 years. His short films ‘The Freezer’ and ‘Dead Letters’ and feature film ‘Orphans & Kingdoms’ received critical acclaim. Paolo is also a TV Commercial Director, represented by Flying Fish Films. As an actor Paolo is probably best known for his work on ‘Shortland Street’. He also had a lead role in the much-loved Kiwi classic caper film Stickmen.

Other television acting credits include, ‘Xena Warrior Princess’, ‘When we go to War’, ‘Riverworld’, ‘Young Hercules’, ‘The Insider's Guide to Love’ and ‘Cancerman’. In 2016 Paolo played Johnny Torrio, Al Capone's infamous mentor in the US Television series ‘Making of the Mob 2.’

As a playwright Paolo has penned major theatre shows including the highly successful ‘Little Che’ and ‘Strange Resting Places’ co-written with Rob Mokaraka and based on family stories of the Maori Battalion in Italy in WW2.
