In Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four, the Ministry of Peace serves the government of Oceania by overseeing an endless war with either Eurasia or Eastasia. This perpetual war utilises all the surplus resources, keeping most citizens in lives of hardship - thus preventing them from learning enough to comprehend the true nature of their society.

The slogan "War is Peace" reflects the function of war to keep the "peace" (status quo) within Oceania, and the balance of power in the world.

The members of this band have marinaded for a good long while in these concepts and have determined that, compared Orwell's novel, things are looking far too familiar for comfort.

To borrow a phrase - Make Orwell Fiction Again.

Help us achieve this goal by dedicating your Saturday night to the liberation of consciousness. Bring yourself along and bless us with the most valuable gift of this age; your attention (and ten dollars).

In kind, we will reveal the keys to the salvation of humanity and/or play you some original music that took far too long to compose.

The Preservatives still exist, but they are merely a mechanical, yet well-oiled, version of our our real inspiration. We have existed as human jukeboxes, employed to entertain the masses. Ministry of Peace is more of a conceptual outlet and has no contractual obligation to entertain you whatsoever. Although, we still hope you find it amusing.

Boogie, shimmy, jive and jig, or trip the light fantastic. Experience the serpentine fringe between Yin and Yang as we explore the order and chaos of our creative ensemble.

The revolution will not be televised, but it will be broadcast at an almost unreasonable volume across the port of Lyttelton.

Bring an instrument if you want, we are down for anything.

Love, big brother.

tl;dr The Preservatives has a full set of original material now. We are called Ministry of Peace. War is bad. Love is good.

$10 or 5 darts on the door to help fund our new blue coveralls.
