Learn how to sew your own toasty warm slippers using pre-felted recycled wool, and leather.
There will be a few styles you can choose from, and the photograph here shows just one option. All you need to bring is your feet, or the outline of your friend or family members footprint on paper. All else will be provided. We will be hand sewing the slippers, with the plan to complete at least one slipper within the workshop period, and you may take resources home to finish the other if need be. There will be a sewing machine set up too.

Schedule: 1pm until 4pm we will go through each step with one slipper. A light afternoon tea will be provided about 4pm. From then until 6pm all are welcome to stay and continue sewing your first slipper. Everyone will take needle and threads home to finish the slippers.

About the Tutor/s: Elizabeth is the main tutor, who is a keen sewer in her free time, and has taught classes in dance and laser cutting. She has been on the research design team of Space Craft Systems / WikiHouse. Depending on the class size, Regina and Lilly may join as assistant tutors to ensure everyone receives help. Regina teaches graphic design at Yoobee School of Design Christchurch. Lilly has a bachelor in fashion design and has built her own tiny house. So you will be in the hands of capable tutors.

"Friends who took the class have remarked how comfortable their slippers are, and how happy they were to sew them themselves". - Elizabeth
