The Novels of Laurence Fearnley - Laurence Fearnley in conversation with Nikki Macdonald.

Come to hear writer and curator Laurence Fearnley discuss and read from her novels, and share her personal story as a writer with journalist Nikki Macdonald.

Laurence lives in Dunedin, and her novels shine a spotlight on South Island landscapes and characters. She is the author of Edwin and Matilda (2007), The Hut Builder (winner of the 2010 New Zealand Post fiction award), The Quiet Spectacular (2016), and Scented, due out in October.

Her writing is known for evoking a sense of the South Island’s southern landscapes and the people who live there, and her non-fiction pays homage to New Zealand’s mountains and the people who explore them. Laurence has been awarded the Artists to Antarctica fellowship and the Robert Burns fellowship.
