Te Tau Ihu Palestine Solidarity invites you to join us to meet with Julie Webb-Pullman, a war crimes investigator living in Gaza, Palestine. She would love to discuss her work and talk about fundraising to employ local Gazan citizens as investigators. There will be plenty of time for questions and there will be tea and coffee available.

Here is some background information about Julie:

Julie Webb-Pullman is a 66 year old woman who has been working in Gaza since 2011, initially as a journalist. In 2012 she established Gaza SCOOP, with the support of New Zealand's SCOOP Media.

Prior to her work in journalism, Julie was an investigator of medical malpractice in Australia for five years, and of human rights abuses in Latin America for another five—skills which came to the fore with the 2014 Israeli offensive in Gaza, since when she has been investigating and collecting evidence of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Working with several Palestinian human rights NGOs and Ministries to train local personnel in evidence collection and management, and through French lawyer Gilles Devers, these teams have now submitted over 2,000 cases to the International Criminal Court, where the Palestinian file remains in preliminary assessment.

Julie is currently working for the Gaza Centre for Human Rights, a newly-established NGO headed up by forensic scientist Yousef AlRantisi, leading a team with a part-time professional translator, a part-time professional investigator, a trainee translator and a trainee investigator. In order to clear the backlog of cases from 2014, plus the March of Return cases, they desperately need at least another two Palestinian investigators and another Palestinian translator, and to increase the two part-time positions to full-time.

With graduate unemployment in Gaza running at 75%, there is no shortage of candidates suitable for training.
