Selwyn Community Education is based at Selwyn College, Kohimarama, Auckland.
This course runs on over four weekly sessions 6 - 9pm with Silvia Gomez-Pineda.
The course starts Wednesday 5 June 2019. A repeat of the course will run Wednesday 16 October 2019.
This unique cooking experience will lead you through an encounter with the flavours, aromas, spices and the culture of Silvia's beloved Mexico and its flavourful cuisine.
Discover the roots of Mexican cuisine, the history and traditions behind the dishes, the indigenous ingredients and the way to handle them. You will be cooking authentic handmade corn tortillas (gluten free), salsas, guacamole and main courses consisting of Carnitas (pulled pork), Barbacoa (lamb), Tostadas (chicken) and a selection of desserts. On the last night you will celebrate with a Mexican fiesta! Course fee includes ingredients.
