KOKOMAI WRITERS & READERS in partnership with Hedleys

Mike Chunn was a founding member of Split Enz and co-founded Citizen Band. Though he loved the stage, he reluctantly left these bands because of debilitating anxiety, triggered every time he left Auckland. It was many years before he discovered he suffered from the phobic disorder, agoraphobia.

He went on to be General Manager of both Mushroom Records NZ and Sony Music Publishing NZ. From 1991-2003, Mike was the Director of NZ Operations for the Australasian Performing Right Association (APRA), where he was instrumental in setting up NZ Music Month. In 2013 Mike was made a Companion of NZ Order of Merit for services to NZ music and men’s mental health. Dr Rob Maunsell will talk to Mike about his career and his autobiography 'A Sharp Left Turn'.

Venue is Wesley Wing, Aratoi Wairarapa Museum of Art and History. Books by featured authors will be on sale in the foyer of Aratoi.
