Movie: Tupaia's Endeavour: Part 1

In 1769 Tupaia, a Tahitian high priest, joined the crew of the Endeavour as it navigated the South Pacific.

A navigator, diplomat, artist and explorer; Tuapaia played an important role in interpreting and mediating between Māori communities and Cook and the crew of the Endeavour.

As a navigator and voyager himself Tupaia brings his own kōrero to a well known story through the voices of his whānau who are on a mission to bring the story of their tipuna to light. You may even recognise some of the people in the movie...
