Our summer toy display this year is Nga Taonga Taakaro - Traditional Maori Games. This really is a hands on and have a go display. Find a space and test your skills.
Traditional Maori games trained the players to use skills needed in everyday life. They tested physical and mental strength, encouraged hand-eye co ordination and were very competitive. Simple, available equipment was utilised and although many require large open spaces, we have managed to put together a selection that can be played in our theatre.
