Peter Black and the Esplanade 1908 to 1946

The Esplanade today still bears the imprint of Peter Black – Curator of Reserves in Palmerston North from 1908 to 1946. The talk will look at Black’s work in the Esplanade and other city parks to get a sense of his design principles and the resourcing constraints under which he operated.
