This course runs over six Tuesday evenings 7 - 9pm starting 19 February 2019 or 30 July 2019 or a weekend workshop Saturday 29 June and Sunday 30 June 2019 9:30am - 4pm both days (you will take a lunch break).
An introduction to the key concepts of Photoshop and how to digitally manipulate images. The objective of this course is to give the participants a basic understanding of Photoshop and the potential that Photoshop offers.
Classes include preparing a project, sorting using the selection tools, introduction to layers, extracting and combining images, concept of colour, greyscale, dealing with text and effects on texts. Tutor will provide images for the class to work from.
The course will also introduce learners to editing tools such as:
- Basic colour adjustment and manipulation
- Realistic water reflection effect
- Airbrushing to perfect skin tone, alter hair colour, reduce wrinkles
- Adding light
- Creating paint effect
- Vintage/retro effects
- Opening and saving images in different file formats for specific uses
This is challenging software to learn. Strong computer confidence is required such as use of menus, toolbars, function keys and file management. This course is designed for those who are new to Photoshop. It would be helpful if you have access to Photoshop software to practise between classes. It may be possible to download a free short-term trial.
