The Taihape Musicians Club Presents "Pinstripes and Petticoats - an Evening of Grand Pioneering"
As part of the town's 125th Birthday Celebrations, join us for a night of live music, dancing, and good times. Tickets $15 - supper included. Doors open 6.30pm.
Local favourites "Fossil Rock" will open the evening. These guys play old school, country rock type music from the 1960's - to 2000's. The band members are Dave Srhoj on keyboard and vocals, Steph Stringer on drums, Katrina Ranginui on vocals, Rob Web on bass guitar and Joe Byford on lead guitar, harmonica and vocals.
"The Kawhia Musicians’ Club" (KMC) will then play the second half of the evening. They have a wide and varied set list with old favourites in there like Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Rolling Stones, Ray Charles and many, many more.
John Thomson (JT) – bass, rhythm guitar, vocals, Geni Taylor – vocals, Jim Murch – bass, vocals, Massey Ormsby – lead guitar, vocals, Alan Davis – guitar, Kit Jeffries – drums, percussion, vocals, Steve Crow – harmonica, vocals, Morris Taylor – lead guitar, vocals. All are accomplished musicians, having considerable experience with other bands throughout NZ and Australia for many years. The group enjoy one another’s company and it shows in the enthusiastic practice sessions and playouts.
