The Raetihi Promotions Charitable Trust is again this year presenting the Raetihi Christmas carnival.
The event this year is again looking forward to welcoming the community of Raetihi along with the wider Waimarino community and the visitors too with advertising far and wide.

The Festival does rely on the generosity and act of kindness from within the community and the businesses that service the community, given the location of Raetihi this extends well beyond our town alone for sponsorship and gifts and we are truly blessed with the generosity of out many sponsors.

This year with the ‘significant natural event” of the slip-on state highway 4 the town found itself with potential loss of through traffic and this created some concerns across the community with this in mind it was decided that this year’s event will be the biggest yet so that the town has something positive to look forward to and refer on as we as a community look for an improved future.

The stage this year will be on the grass area alongside coach café chill and listen to the awesome bands who have agreed to come along this year.

We have a fantastic lot of Market stalls coming along offering a wonderful range of products, with some 11 stalls alone providing a range of food items.

For the ’Guys” and yes you gals too, we have a new addition this year a car show, some cool wheels, race cars, muscle cars, stock cars, sweet looking bikes, and if you have some cool wheels, don’t be shy bring them down and show them off too.

This year we are introducing a ‘Giant Christmas Raffle” which will run from 2 December to 21 December and be drawn on 21 December at the Raetihi Cosmopolitan Club under police scrutiny with the major prize being a 65” flat screen Samsung TV with a value of $2300, yes we know the printed ticket says $1500 but hey it is an even bigger prize for the same $5.00. But there will also be quick fire $2.00 raffles.

Then there is The Parade, this year at 3.30pm, so plenty of time to have perused the market, had fun at the fair, got wet, had a good feed, then stand back as the Waimarino Junior brass band leads the parade on the back of the beautifully decorated float. So, if you haven’t already sorted a float there is still time, forms at the Raetihi information centre.

Bring up the end of the parade will be Santa of course.
But the fun doesn’t stop there, with the Sound Present Stage goes through until 7pm, maybe a surprise here too.

Of course, none of this will be possible without the support of our sponsors, who will be displayed on boards around the event, note who they are and be sure that you support them so next year they are still here to support us.

If you feel you can support please email to raetihi.promotions@gmail.com.

We the Raetihi Christmas Festival look forward to seeing you at the Festival on the 14th, please stay safe, look after each other and have a Very Merry Christmas and an exceptional New Year.
