We will be based in the beautiful Brandenburg Coppice, a unique woodland on the Lincoln University campus for this workshop.

Come along and learn how to make a three-legged greenwood stool!

At this time of year, we have some dry local hazel. This enables us to employ different techniques in our stool making. We are very pleased to be able to offer this class as a one day session.

You will learn basic whittling techniques with the draw-knife and travisher, and how to wedge a leg into a stool top, and other lovely resourceful skills. You’ll learn all about the ancient traditions of greenwood-working in a stunning outdoor setting.

First you will make your stool seat and legs. Then we fit the legs into the stool seat, trim and finish the seat, and then level the legs.

Please note: This workshop is only suited to those who can work safely without direct supervision with very sharp hand tools.

After you’ve booked, we’ll send you information re what to bring, wear and how to find us nearer the workshop date.

Bookings are essential and non-refundable.
