Relay For Life Marlborough

Relay For Life is an inspirational and fun overnight team event for everyone of all fitness levels.

Organised by Cancer Society Marlborough, Relay For Life celebrates with survivors, remembers loved ones lost to cancer and is a unique opportunity to come together as a community to fight back against cancer.

Teams set up camp and take turns relay style walking/running around a track for 14 hours while enjoying a carnival atmosphere of live music, entertainment, games, activities and fantastic community camaraderie.

The earlier you register, the lower your fee! Your registration includes - Overnight camping, Relay T-shirt, big breakfast on Sunday and eligibility for spot prizes on event day.

We have an ambitious fundraising target of $100,000 to make sure that Cancer Society Marlborough can continue to provide vital, free support services and information for people going through cancer, right here in Marlborough.

You will need:
- To form a team of 10 friends, family and colleagues
- Pay a registration fee to help cover costs of running the event
- Commit to fundraising a minimum of $2500 per team to support vital services for people living with cancer right here in the Marlborough region

What happens during Relay for Life?
We make a big effort to keep you and your supporters entertained as well as remembering or celebrating those lost to cancer.
- Opening ceremony with cancer survivors and carers leading the first lap of the event
- Candle bags that are personally inscribed are placed around the track to remember and celebrate loved ones lost to cancer
- Live entertainment, games and activities will be provided throughout the 12 hours
- Food and beverage providers will be present to keep participants and supporters well fed and watered
- After sunset, there is a candlelight ceremony to celebrate cancer survivors, and to show those affected by cancer that they are not alone
- Each team gets a Team Camp, a special place where they can set up chairs & tables, so participants can rest and recoup
- Closing ceremony – congratulations you have finished!!!
