Rick Edmonds has been a full time artist for forty years and over that time has produced a significant body of work.
Whilst well known for his pictorial interpretations of water effects in general, and the Marlborough Sounds in particular, he has also produced work on a wide range of themes and using a wide range of media.
After recently exhibiting in the United States, this is his first show in Marlborough for a number of years, and features examples from the various series of art work he has produced over four decades.
As well as ripples, portraits, figure studies, and non-representational social commentary, his work as a Department of Conservation artist, a muralist, and an illustrator / designer is also featured.
Also in the exhibition are-never-before shown sketches and preliminary studies for larger work.
Opening reception is Thursday, 26 September (6:30pm - 8:30pm) - join us to meet the artist and hear what has inspired Rick Edmonds artwork.
"Retrospective" exhibit will run 27 September through to 18 October at The Gallery Havelock, 60 Main Road. Open daily 10am - 4pm.
