It has been a fantastic month celebrating all things music in Rotorua as part of New Zealand Music Month!
On Friday 31 May, as May Music Month comes to close, the annual Rotorua Blues Festival is just beginning, so we have combined the two events into one amazing night.
A great collection of local and international artists will take the stage at the Social Club kicking off from 5.30pm and continuing until late. Come down eat, drink and enjoy the free entertainment.
Up first is a dynamic blues duo called Wizard and Oz. With Andrew Farrell on piano and David McMillan on acoustic guitar they are sure to get toes tapping as the evening comes alive.
The seven piece band The Blues Busters takes over continuing on with a unique blues style.
Just fresh after a near sold out tour of New Zealand with Opal Ocean we are joined by the talented Kara Gordon (Fly My Pretties, Kara Gordon and the Wreckage). Kara will be doing a mixture of his blues, rock, funk and ‘shredmenco ‘originals with the odd cover you don't see and hear every day. With soaring vocals, virtuosic yet soulful, and rhythmic guitar playing coupled with his tight loops - this will be a performance not to be missed!
Local band Remaster will finish of the night, hitting you with a repertoire of covers crossing multiple musical genres. With powerhouse vocals soaring above their unique blend of reggae rhythms, funky grooves and jazz inspired riffs, Remaster are sure to deliver a smorgasbord of magic.
