About the bands:
The Hollow Grinders
Hailed as one New Zealand's best surf guitar bands, NZ legends The Hollow Grinders never fail to put on a fantastically ferocious show! The band even has a song written about them, immortalised by Californian band The Neptunes with their song "Hollow Grinders are Go!".

The band are currently promoting their newest album Surfin' Taniwha and what a brilliant album it is. The album and the band have been enjoying fantastic media reviews and radioplay both here and abroad since its release.

Deadly Sam and The Summertime Bandit:
Sam Kimber-Bell is back with new his band, aptly named Deadly Sam and The Summertime Bandit! Deadly Sam he is... you may know him as the brilliant lead guitarist of Dick Dynamite and The Doppelgangers! As a member of Dick Dynamite with his brother Ricky Kimber-Bell, the band won the York St Band Experiments, released a video clocking up a whopping 750,000 views and counting and supported the likes of US legends Stray Cat's Slim Jim Phantom. Fresh from playing one of NZ best vintage and rockabilly festival's Rebel Round Up, you can catch them at Saw Wave.

Contenders
The Spinoff proclaimed Contenders latest songs as one the best underground releases of 2018. Waikato Times opinion writer Richard Swainson went even further proclaiming member Cilla as one the best frontperson's Hamilton has ever seen! The band has built a strong reputation for blistering live performances, that has seen them play the likes of Future City Festival, Real Groovy's Record Day and supporting US punk legends Supersuckers. They recently finished recording their acclaimed track with none other sound engineer wizard Scott Newth (The Datsuns) at local studios The Porch!

Many thanks to these awesome folk for supporting live local music!
