The eyes of the racing world will fall upon Manfeild Circuit Chris Amon this weekend. It’s time for the New Zealand Grand Prix and the big question will be answered – who will put their name amongst some of the greats of the motorsport world on the historic GP trophy?

The final racing weekend of the 2019 Castrol Toyota Racing Series will once again not only see a new champion crowned in this top level international series, but will also see the winner of our biggest domestic motor race crowned. Kiwis have shone this season, with Liam Lawson, Marcus Armstrong and Brendon Leitch all winning races. Can one of the home guns come good this weekend in Feilding?

With 7 ‘Super Points’ going towards the successful driver’s tally to qualify for a Super Licence and the right to race in F1 up for grabs, the stakes at this final weekend of the series will be big to say the least.

Topping the support cast bill are the BNT V8 racers, with their spectacular Holden, Ford, Toyota and Nissan machines and two categories of closely fought racing to keep the crowd on their toes. We’ve had Bathurst winners and Supercar drivers aplenty in recent seasons, and this time around there will once again be an Aussie contingent taking on the best of the Kiwi V8 racers.

The Pirelli Porsche Championship is back on the Speed Works Motorsport NZ Championship trail this weekend for its fifth round of the championship and it will be game on at the Manfeild track as the best Porsche drivers in the game go head to head for honours at this prestigious meeting.

The Toyota 86 Championship racers will approach the end of one of the most competitive championships in recent seasons. Twenty of the best young and up and coming racers in the country will battle it out in identical machinery for honours at the Grand Prix meeting and the racing will be fierce.

Stupendous speed will also be a factor this weekend with the Tradezone GTRNZ grids in town. If you don’t have a trailer load of horsepower, you won’t be in the game in this category and the machines in GT1/2 are packing an absolute mountain of power, in some cases more than 1000bhp.

Flame spitting, ground hugging and on the absolute limit around Manfeild, they are a sight to behold. GT3/4 might be a little tamer, but it continues to produce some of the best racing around at domestic level and will be a welcome addition to the card once again.

Single seater action at its absolute best will be another feature with the Hi-Q Components Formula First racers set to thrill once again at the Grand Prix meeting. Last season they had the crowd on their feet with multiple passing and streamlining for each and every lap of their weekend of racing and we’ll get more of the same this weekend. That’s a guarantee!

The NZ V8 Utes add even more V8 flavour to this flagship meeting, with the good old boys of ute racing once again battling it out over three races during the weekend in their 400bhp Holden and Ford machinery. The racing here too is super close with little to choose between the two marques or the drivers.Watch out for fast lady Alexandra Whitley who has already won this seasin and shown she can mix it with the good 'ol boys any day of the week, and particularly race day!
