Christchurch School Strike 4 Climate is holding our first tree planting! This is an opportunity to meet the team and other environmentally-minded youth in Christchurch. It’s open to all, not just young people, and transport is generously provided for us there and back from RED BUS. If you’re interested, we’ll meet at 9:00am at Platform A of the central bus exchange, with the bus departing at 9:15. After we have planted trees and eaten a delicious vegetarian BBQ, the bus will depart Styx Mill at 12:30, arriving back to the exchange at 1:00.
Please let us know if you are planning on meeting us at Styx Mill, rather than bussing.
We encourage everyone to make their way to the exchange using sustainable transport; busing, walking or biking - this is because we'll be able to calculate the amount of carbon saved by using sustainable transport (thanks to Red Bus!).
We would also like the thank the Chrichurch City Council who have been a wonderful partner in this event!!
Please bring along:
Hats, raincoat, sunblock, warm clothing, sturdy boots/gumboots
Water bottle,
Plate, cup and utensils
Any special dietary requirements BYO
Gloves if you have them.
A vegetarian barbeque will be provided, with another big thank you to VegeLand for supplying the food!
A donation at the end of the event would also be appreciated, so we can keep doing events like this.
