A weekly stand-up comedy show featuring a mix of newbies, seasoned pros and everything in between! Whether you’re passing through and keen to experience the Christchurch flavour of stand-up, or a local looking to discover a whole new side of your city. Either way, this is the place to be on a Tuesday night!
The show is an open mic format show which means the comics will be predominantly working on new material. This means that some jokes may be heard for the first time and others for the last time, however one thing is certain - it’s always a good time! It’s not the most structured night of comedy, but we wholeheartedly believe it’s the strongest open mic night of pure, raw, live stand-up comedy in Christchurch!
So if you're looking for a cosy spot in town to kick back with a couple of drinks, a bite to eat and a side order of comedy, this is the show for you!
The shows at Kensington Fun House have been filling up quickly lately, so if you’d like to reserve a table, send them a PM at www.facebook.com/kensingtonfunhouse to guarantee you get one!
The best thing about this show is never know who you might see, previous lineups have included: Gish (Aotearoha), Sajeela Kershi (BBC, Comedy Central), Bec Sandys (The Project), Jamaine Ross (Frickin’ Dangerous Bro, 7 Days, Jono & Ben), Liam Malone (Jono & Ben, Paralympics), Joe Daymond (SHXT Talk Podcast, Mai FM, Te Ao), Sonness Stevens (TEDx) and Josiah Day (TVNZ)
If you're interested in performing yourself, this show is a friendly, welcoming, no pressure environment to get up and try stand-up for the first time. Send us an email at candocomedynz@gmail.com, or message us on Facebook @candocomedy and we’ll get you set up to start. It's that easy!
