Teen Lyrical Contemporary with Olivia Tombs

Contemporary dance is an expressive style that allows the dancers to use the mind and body to showcase a range of emotions. The focus on beautiful technique combined with the expressive nature lets the choreography and dancer tell a story. Contemporary can be done to pretty, slow songs, classical music or even spoken word.

Lyrical dance is characterized by grace and fluidity that embodies various aspects of ballet, jazz, modern dance and acrobatics. Lyrical choreography uses fluent motion and allows the dance to interrupt and express the songs emotion through the dancer’s movements

Olivia Tombs specialises in contemporary dance. Oliva has been a student at Empire studios herself and knows and remembers what it’s like to be a student. Because of this she is incredibly sensitive to the needs of each dance student, and works to find the best way to encourage each pupil. Olivia believes in all of her students and encourages them to be the best version of themselves in the classroom.
