The 50th anniversary of man landing on the Moon brings forward all sorts of questions. Conspiracy or reality, we do know that at the moment we can only survive on Earth. Is it time now to start thinking and learning about what sparkles above us, what asteroids are casually (or not so casually) zooming passed us, some hitting us but most floating on by unbeknownst to most of us.

The great thing about living in New Zealand particularly is our ability to see the night sky so clearly. We encourage you to take this opportunity, talk with others about what can be seen above - whether with the naked-eye or with more definition through a telescope.

For families this is a great opportunity to get the children outside to explore the world, for others, it puts perspective on life and stimulates creativity and thoughts. To help you get excited about the stars we have a special course to get the most out of telescopes. Suitable for beginners and novices, it teaching the finer details of how to use and maintain a telescope, whether your own, a friend or with us at Space Place.

This course is a special offering in August 2019. Spaces are limited so bookings are essential.
