Seminar: Telling our stories. Two authors, both finalists in this year's children and young adult book awards, will talk about their writing, how their books take shape and how they work with publishers prior to publication.

The authors are Debbie McCauley from Tauranga and Steph Matuku from New Plymouth. Debbie's books include Mōtītī Blue and the Oil Spill, about the Rena disaster off the Tauranga coast, and Ko Mauao te Maunga; Legend of Mauao.

Steph's Flight of the Fantail is a science fiction young adult survival story and Whetū Toa and the Magician is a fantasy chapter book for younger readers.
