The Bluestone Room 2019 Mardi Gras: CANCELLED

Mardi Gras – celebrated annually in carnival festivals in cities throughout the American South – is synonymous with New Orleans, Louisiana. Rooted in French colonial history and associated Catholic tradition across the central Southern states of Louisiana and Alabama – Mardi Gras (or Fat Tuesday) precedes Ash Wednesday as the last day of feasting before Lent as Easter approaches.

In New Orleans the annual observance of the celebrations has been a central part of the city’s identity since the mid-1800s and carnival season runs from early in the year – concentrating on the five days leading up to Mardi Gras – highlighted by street parades thrown by New Orleans krewes along the famous route from the Uptown and Midcity districts through to Bourbon St in the Quarter itself.

We have the perfect venue for carnival madness. Dressed and adorned with Mardi Gras staples – beads, lights, masks, fabulous carnival dancers, and roaming performers – along with compelling audio-visual, prizes, and a line-up of musical artists to get you shaking it all the way down as the good times roll – this will be a night of sweet abandon!

With an array of fabulous cocktails including the Hurricane (NOLA favourite) – and classic N’Orleans and Creole fare like chicken waffles, shrimp Po Boys, Gumbo, and superb Rockefeller oysters – Mardi Gras at the Bluestone Room this March 1, will be unforgettable.
