Friends of Rotorua Museum are pleased to host a lecture by experienced special effects designer Gareth Dinneen on Thursday 13 June 2019 at 6pm.

The talk will take place at Te Rūnanga Tea House where Dinneen will talk about his career as a compositor in visual effects for high-end feature films in Los Angeles, London, Sydney and Weta Digital in Wellington.

He will chat about being on the Oscar-winning vfx teams for King Kong and Avatar and explain what goes into making those unreal images look real.

Tickets are $10 for members of Friends of Rotorua Museum and $15 for non-members.

Tickets are available to purchase from Rotorua Lakes Council Reception (1061 Haupapa St, Rotorua) from 15 May 2019. Numbers are limited for this popular talk so get in quick.

Light refreshments will be provided from 5.30pm with the talk beginning at 6pm.
