The Rag Poets

Rag Poets are a bunch of local musicians who have been on the wellington scene for more years than they care to remember.

They got themselves together as 'The Rag Poets' to play the music they all love, and just needed the excuse to play together. The music comes with country roots flavour featuring the songs of artists such Huddie Ledbetter, Guy Clark, Neil Young amongst others. Adding to the mix they throw in a handful of original compositions.

The band loves to express itself vocally,bringing rich sweet harmonies to the arrangements-which suits the material the choose to play, a lot of which originates from the 50s and 60s era.
