The Slapback is returning in 2019 for round 2, with a fresh line up of some of Auckland's hottest Hiphop & R&B artists performing live at Anthology Lounge.

We're taking you back to arguably the most exciting era of urban music, with artists including live covers of your favourite songs from the 00's in their sets.

Featuring multi-award winning South Auckland RnB singer and dancer "RAZÉ", recipient of “Best Pacific Female Artist” and “Best Soul and RnB Artist” at the 2019 Pacific Music Awards. Her unique and powerful vocal tone weaves in and out of soulful underground sounds as she delivers an energetic performance, joined on stage by her two skillful backing dancers.

Nigerian Kiwi artist "Unchained XL" (UXL) joins the lineup with his live band "The Shaka Boys", blending traditional African inspired textures and rhythms with hiphop creating a sound which he has coined “Afro-roots Hiphop”. UXL's harks back to iconic protest-music legends such as Fela Kuti, De La Soul and A Tribe Called Quest as he performs numbers from his discography of conscious, hard hitting tunes.

Pukekohe golden boy and Redbull featured artist "Dharmarat" is a rapper, producer and audio engineer who keeps a diverse circle around him and draws from his multi-cultural upbringing to pen bars that resonate with the widest audiences, through unvarnished truth and unadorned relatability.

Dunedin original "Mo Muse" is the “Everyman” of Aotearoa Hiphop, known for his conscious and relatable content and delivery of break-neck party anthems with raw and energetic presence. Making waves with his recent hard hitting viral tribute to the victims of Christchurch tragedy "Friday" and also a feature on Redbull's esteemed "64 bars" series, Muse' trajectory is sharply upward and is not one to miss.

Auckland based producer and DJ "Soraya" completes the lineup spinning a specialized selection of the dopest hits before and during artist sets. Daughter of the Commodores bassist Ronald LaPread, her upbringing surrounded by musical Icons and legends equips her with a musical "third eye", knowing how to keep any audience pumped for hours on end.

With a crazy lineup for only $15 online (or $20) on the door, This is not one to miss!
