Totara Park is a unique community track-build and ecological restoration project in Johnsonville.

All are welcome to join volunteers from the Johnsonville Community Association (JCA) in digging, planting and building a new 600m-long track in Totara Park, linking Mclintock Street and Broderick Road through a stand of fast-regenerating native bush.

The JCA is planting selected species of native trees donated by Wellington City Council along the track to rebalance and restore the local eco-diversity to its original state. As well as offering new walking and biking opportunities, the new track will have spots for picnicking and taking in stunning views across Johnsonville, Newlands and Wellington Harbour.

Look for the road cones on Mclintock St, about 150m down from the bus stop. Some tools will be available to borrow, but additional spades would be helpful. Please bring gloves to protect your hands.

Enquiries to jcainc2@gmail.com or phone Graeme on 027 444 1748.
