Our annual community event Treats in the Park is back!

Our 17th Treats event will include 6 Treats stations, inflatable rides, food stalls, fun activities, community information, entertainment, costume competition, prizes, skate comp and much much more.

Cost:
Treat Tickets are $5 each and allows children to collect treats from the treat stations and enjoy unlimited access to the huge inflatable rides. When you arrive look out for the Lodge Registration tent to purchase the treat tickets or you can drop into the centre the week before to purchase tickets. Spectators are free.

Bring a little reusable bag to collect Treats.

Note: The money we collect for registration pays for half of the event costs and our funders and supporters and our own fundaising covers the remaining part.

Thank You.

Treats in the Park 2019 would not have been possible without the support of the Hamilton City Council, Trust Waikato and Lottery Grants Board.

Costume Judging
A big part of the event is the costumes!
The costume showcase will take place at 5pm, 6pm and 7pm all ages at the same time, just come to the side of the stage 5 mins before. You can only enter once per night.

Background
The first Treats in the Park event began in 1998 when at a community meeting the issue was identified that a large amount of children were wandering the streets late into the night collecting treats door-to-door on the night of Halloween. In 2003, due to the high level of feedback from residents and community leaders to hold this event again it was decided this would become an annual event.

This years event takes place Thursday 31st October from 4pm – 8pm at the Western Community Centre.

For the past 3 decades the Western Community Centre has helped facilitate events using them to provide opportunities for the community to come together to strengthen relationships, create vibrancy and celebrate our diversity and strength.
