Due to weather condition and other unforeseen circumstances we have had to postpone our event.
The new scheduled date for our guided night walk in Trounson kauri Park will be on the 12th October 2019. Bookings have become available.
The Kauri Coast DOC office will be hosting a Free Guided Night Walk at Trounson Kauri Park for local families on Saturday the 12th October 2019. This is a great opportunity to connect families to conservation week through education advocacy and to explore concepts of “Nature Needs Us”.
Visitors will have a chance to walk through an impressive stand of kauri, engage with the local residents such as glow worms, kauri snails, weta, koura, kokopu, Morepork and if we are lucky, we may encounter a kiwi!
The Kauri Coast Top 10 guides and Te Roroa Ambassadors will also share in their knowledge around the significance of Trounson Kauri Park and talk on the effects of Kauri Dieback by delivering key messaging of staying on tracks, using the wash stations provided and always clean footwear before and after walking local tracks to prevent the spread.
For more information or to register on this free guided night walk tour please contact Jaime at the Kauri Coast Department of Conservation Office.
Registration are essential. Bring your own torch.
