Understanding Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder with special speaker Dr Valerie McGinn
Professional Development Seminar.

We are excited to be welcoming Dr McGinn from Auckland to present this seminar. She has over 20 years’ experience working with children and adolescents with brain injuries and neurodisabilities, and is a leading Clinical Neuropsychologist specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) is not broadly understood and we hope service providers and people who work with individuals with FASD will benefit from the seminar and Dr Valerie McGinn’s vast knowledge on the topic.

Recognise the signs and symptoms of FASD, understand how it is diagnosed and learn how to adapt support to the different needs of those with the neurodisability.

- Learn how the brain is affected and how that impacts on behaviour and mental wellbeing
- Recognising the different social and emotional needs of individuals with FASD
- Come to understand what are realistic expectations when working with FASD
