Waifest is Masterton’s way to celebrate and commemorate Waitangi Day, where we celebrate our Tangata Whenua, the people of the land, and everyone else who is lucky enough to call this beautiful region home. It is also an opportunity for people of all cultures to explore what Waitangi Day means.

Waifest 2019 will be showcasing live entertainment, arts, food stalls, storytelling and history, with this year marking the 179th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty.

Award-winning reggae band Three Houses Down have been secured as the headline act, and joining THD on stage will also be up-and-coming artist General Fiyah (12 year-old Lotima Pome’e) who co-writes, sings and tours with THD.

We warmly invite you to the festivities starting at 10am on Wednesday, 6 February 2019.

Hope to see you there!
