The Wakatipu Reforestation Trust invites you to come along to their nursery open day where you will have the opportunity to plant a native plant and help with potting up native seedlings. There will also be the opportunity to learn how to weave Harakeke (flax) with a local weaver and take a nursery and reference garden tour to learn more about our natural heritage and how you can start your own native garden or restoration project. This open morning is drop-in style between 9am and 12noon, and all ages are welcome.

TRANSPORT TO THE EVENT - If you can, come on your BIKE, take the BUS (or ferry), CARPOOL or WALK. We’d love to keep this event as low impact as possible.

PLANT A TREE - We have two off-set partners this year, the WAKATIPU REFORESTATION TRUST and TE KAKANO AOTEAROA TRUST. Part of our profits will go to these two amazing organisations. If you want to help regenerate our incredible district, we’ve also set up a tree registry with TREES THAT COUNT. By donating to the registry, you’re putting more native trees into the ground, helping not only reduce our footprint but also providing habitat for our feathered neighbours.
