Researchers at the Human Nutrition Unit, University of Auckland, led by Prof Sally Poppitt, are investigating the differential responses of a high-protein diet and a low-carbohydrate diet in inducing weight loss.

This weight loss intervention study involves the participant to follow a Low-Energy Diet for 8 weeks achieved using partial meal replacements (Cambridge Weight Plan). This research is actively looking for female participants (age between 18 and 65 years old, BMI greater than 30kg/m^2, body weight not more than 130kg, otherwise healthy) to participate in this study.

Participants will be invited to attend 3 clinic visits at the Human Nutrition Unit and attend a fortnightly meeting with a Registered Dietitian who is an expert in using Cambridge meal replacements. The changes in body weight, appetite and body composition (fat mass and fat-free mass) will be assessed.

This research is running between April and November. It is a golden opportunity for those who fit the study criteria to lose weight. Moreover, participants will be provided with Cambridge meal replacements at no cost. We welcome everyone to spread this message.
