Celia Geary is a committee member of He Tangata Whenua Whakapapa Roopu, part of The New Zealand Society of Genealogists.

She will discuss the philosophy underlying whakapapa research and explain how this is different from researching the family history of other ethnicities. A major part of her presentation will show you how to search for, find, access and interpret records to further your own research.

Jason Harrison from the Aotea Māori Land Court will also present to discuss how using the Māori Land Court records will assist your search.
