Whanganui River Markets

This is one of New Zealand's favourite markets.

Every Saturday morning over 150 tiny businesses selling locally grown produce and plants, delicious street food, fabulous creations, craftmenship, artists, musicians and generally very clever locals set up colourful stalls on the downtown Whanganui Riverbank.

No matter the weather, they are here with a smile and a welcome for locals, and visitors to our town.Even our historic tram comes out to show off to the crowd.

A visit to this market is a way to see the pride we have in our community, the diversity and the delight we have in sharing all Whanganui has to offer those considering a move to regional New Zealand.
And an opportunity to find a treasure, a piece of art, a heritage fruit tree... whatever is your fancy, you are likely to find it.
