Wild Day

Fun family event for Conservation Week, exploring the paths at Otipua Wetland. Meet wildlife experts for guided walks (insects, bird watching), try a touch-tank with marine life (Aquavan visiting from University of Otago).

See live native fish, learn about the native plants that feed butterflies, moths and lizards, about endangered long tailed bats and their predators. Help plant some more shrubs. Connect with the Saltwater Creek Catchment Group and learn about measuring water quality and protecting storm-water. Arrive by bike or on foot. Event will move to Sunday if postponed by heavy rain on Saturday.
