Workshop - Wool Spinning

Ever wondered how wool gets from a woolly sheep to a warm knitted woolen jumper? Local spinners will be here to show us how they expertly turn wool fibre into yarn on the spinning wheel.

This workshop will involve a demonstration from expert spinners from the Handweavers and spinners guild of New Zealand, as well as the chance to have a go and get some hands-on experience. You will be able to see how raw wool is turned and spun into yarn, and how much effort and skill it involves!

The workshop will be in the Education Centre at Huia Lodge Discovery Hub from 10 am - 12pm.
