A Kid-Friendly Drag King Show

Theydies and gentlethems, bois and grrrls. You are cordially invited to attend a drag pageant like no other. There will be glitz, glamour and talent galore! Welcome to the first annual Mr Congeniality - a dazzling drag king pageant.

This sparkling showcase is a veritable bro-nanza extravaganza. This November 28th at The Fringe Bar, Wellington’s overflowing pool of drag kings will be primped, preened and full of pride. There’ll be high hair, blinding sequins, baton twirling, fashion runways, thumping group numbers and of course, pleas for world peace.

But there’ll be no crown-snatching at this pageant! Mr Congeniality has all the pomp, circumstance and sequins of a glitzy beauty pageant, but everyone’s a winner. This pageant is non-competitive - our sweet-as-pie local boys will only be fighting for your affections.

Please note! Seating is not allocated so make sure to arrive early to nab a good vantage point. Doors open one hour before showtime, latecomers may not be admitted, and door sales are cash only. The event space is located upstairs with a service elevator available on request, but please get in touch before the gig if you have any accessibility concerns so we can best help you out.
