‘AKAMATA
‘Akamata 'means to commence or begin in the Cook Islands Maori language and we are here to start a new wave of Pacific song, costuming and dance.

Our newly formed AUĒ Dance Lab classes will be showcasing vigorous Pacific contemporary dance, mesmerising Siva Samoa (Samoan dance) and powerful Ura Kuki Airani (Cook Islandsdance).

‘Akamata will also feature AUĒ’s newly established Cook Islands dance collective, MANA.

Through the fusion of Pacific dance, song and costuming, each class will be portraying a myth or a legend from the respected Pacific Island of their dance class. A showcase FULL of unique, original and vibrant Pacific art.
