Orphaned Pollyanna (Hayley Mills) is sent to live with her disagreeable Aunt Polly (Jane Wyman). Pollyanna has a knack of always seeing a good side to everything and teaches some of the more bitter members of the community about the ‘glad game’. When this attitude is challenged by an accident the townsfolk step up and show their support by demonstrating just how much Pollyanna has changed their lives.
