Fee: $5.00 a session, pay on the day or pay ahead An Art Pack: is available for purchase. The full Art Pack will cover the whole year course. Cost of full Art Pack: Approx. $52.00, to be confirmed.
The Course: This is a directed course designed for a full year, a process of building skills and practice. You can choose to attend for the entire course to gain the most from a building of your skills, or if this is not possible, attend on a casual basis as each session is fairly “stand-alone”. Whatever your experience, there are skills to be learned. Beginners are welcome. Periodically, one of the art lesson days may be used as a day trip to an art gallery. Maximum numbers for each course: 10-12 adult students. Some of the skills covered in the course: visual thinking, elements & principles of art, materials, composition, perspective, colour theory, directional lighting, form & space, colour schemes, a range of genres in art, techniques, artist models, “reading” artworks,

Tutor: Elspeth Atkinson - My background is as a Fine Arts graduate (Ilam School of Fine Arts, Canterbury University), with 38 years teaching experience in NZ secondary schools. Currently I am a practicing painter, working out of my studio in Dannevirke.
