Ben Throp and his intimate strangers will be at the Urban Winery for 1 night only! Saturday, June 13th from 7:30-9:30 pm will be a night to remember. With over 25 years of experience, Ben is one of the top performers in HB. The band is made up of HB musos including:

Ben Throp and the Intimate strangers journey begins in the coastal settlement of Te Awanga, Hawke's Bay, where songwriter Ben Throp draws inspiration from the coastal rhythm section of the Pacific Ocean which laps on his doorstep. His songs are derived from his experiences with nature and the ever changing physical, social and political landscapes surrounding him at the time. This unique environment is where Ben's compositions first see the light of day. Once birthed, the compositions grow wings and fly under the collaboration that unfolds with the Intimate Strangers - a truly special collective of musicians who come from all over the country and abroad and who each add their unique flavors to the music. This organic process of "collaboration for performance" is the essence of the band and is the life force that allows this very Kiwi music to thrive.
