The Best Foods Leftover Lunch Truck is on tour offering Kiwis a range of delicious meals with a twist; they’re made of ingredients that would otherwise be destined for the bin!
With the average Kiwi family throwing away three shopping trolleys worth of food each year (that's around $644!), we're launching the Leftover Lunch Truck to show you how you can reduce your household waste AND save money (yes please!).
On Saturday, 5 December the food truck will visit The Base, Hamilton to show you that ‘leftovers and forgotten’ food can easily be transformed into something delicious. We'll be using New Zealand’s 10 most discarded ingredients such as potatoes, bread, veggies and chicken which will be whipped up into four delicious (and free) sample meals for you to try.
We'll also have waste ambassadors on-site to chat to you about how to tackle your food waste and Christmas celebrations (where food waste reaches its peak).
