Join us in a rustic boutique of timber and textiles to hear readings from two of New Zealand’s best known and talented poets.

Tayi Tibble, a poet and essayist, is joining us from Wellington. She holds a Masters degree in Creative Writing from the International Institute of Modern Letters. She was also the winner of 2017 The Adam Foundation Prize for ‘In a Fish Tank Filled with Pink Light’, a collection of poems that explore the lives of four generations of Maori women.

Tayi is joined by Hawkes Bay poet Marty Smith who grew up on a remote hill country farm between Pahiatua and the sea. Her debut collection ‘Horse with Hat’ was a finalist in the Kathleen Grattan Award, and won the Jesse McKay award for the best first book of poetry in the 2014 New Zealand Post Book Awards.

Tayi and Marty will share their works with the audience in the tactile rustic Tattertales space in Waipawa.
