The Rogue and Vagabond presents 'Big Band Thursdays'
Every Thursday for the month of August the Rogue will host a big band in different styles, with different bandleaders, pkaying original music and arrangements as well as some old favourites.
This week, FUNK with the Rodger Fox Big Band
Wellington's premier big band featuring the capital's finest jazz talent. Founded by New Zealand jazz-big band legend Rodger Fox, this band covers all bases.
The WJO has performed with some of the biggest names in jazz including Steve Smith, Kurt Elling, Eric Marienthal, Patti Austin, John Fedchock, Bill Cunliffe, Steve Houghton, Dick Oatts, Alex Sipiagin, Bob Sheppard, Bruce Forman, Charley Davis, Denise Perrier, Alan Broadbent ... to name but a few.
