Directed by Sue Patterson and accompanied by Jeanette Robertson on piano.
A glorious occasion of songs for Christmas and other music including pieces by John Rutter, Morten Lauridsen and Cole Porter. The choir music is supported with songs from Sue Patterson, Debby Williams, Kathleen Brentwood, Sally Geddes and Alan Pickard. The trio of Masa Nakazawa (piano), Lauren Christie (violin) and Ela Coutts (flute) perform some delightful classical music. Young pianist Billie Comer performs some of her own music on piano.
A feature from the choir is the charming Vois sur ton Chemin a song from the 2004 film Les Choristes. Text and music are by Bruno Coulais and Christophe Barratier.
The 15 strong vocal group's harmonies draw an ever growing following of supporters. Choral Director Sue Patterson says, "people love the acoustics and atmosphere in the gallery and enjoy the opportunity to hear warm harmonies and inspiring music. This isn’t just a concert, it’s a social occasion.”
Tickets and include half time refreshments of wine and nibbles. The tickets can be purchased from the Lakes District Museum, Summerfields Pharmacy or Wilkinsons Pharmacy. The tickets are often sold out and we recommend people purchase before the concert day".
