“I had so many flowers when I was little, I got to know them all so well that they are simply the breath of life to me. It’s no ordinary love; it’s a passion.” - Katherine Mansfield in a letter to Dorothy Brett, 26 January 1922

Katherine Mansfield House & Garden and Steele Roberts invite you to celebrate the recently released publication 'Heart of Flame: Katherine Mansfield’s Flowers & Trees'. The book’s compiler Beverley Randell will give an illustrated talk, with artist Jenni Shoesmith in attendance, followed by afternoon tea and a visit to Katherine Mansfield House & Garden where the book and original artworks will be available for purchase.

'Heart of Flame' reveals the exuberance and originality of Katherine Mansfield’s words, and Jenni Shoesmith’s lively and lifelike illustrations make it easy to identify the plants Mansfield loved so much. The talk will include readings from the book, compiled from Mansfield’s stories, poems and letters.

The event begins at the Wellington Bridge Club, 17 Tinakori Road, Thorndon and will end at Katherine Mansfield House & Garden, 25 Tinakori Road, Thorndon (with a very short and easy walk between the two). Parking is available at the Wellington Bridge Club and on the street.

RSVP to info@katherinemansfield.com by 12pm Friday 4 December.
