On September 19 1893, New Zealand became the first nation in the world to grant women the right to vote.

To celebrate Suffrage Day, the Friends of Karori Cemetery are running our Heroines and Housewives tour from 1:30pm - 3pm.

During this themed tour you will encounter not only suffragists, educationalists, reformers and artists, but we will also celebrate a few ordinary women who had extraordinary things happen in their lives.
The tour is 1.5 hours duration, easy walking, good dogs on leads welcome. $10 per person (under 12-year olds free).

Booking essential by email to friendsofkaroricemeterytours@gmail.com.

Tours are weather dependent – information about meeting place, cancellation arrangements etc. will be sent on booking.

Note: If the current COVID-19 alert level changes we may need to cancel.
